Here you can see that in the dividend section there are 3 digits and in the divisor section there is only 1 zero.

Now subtract dividend digits number and number of zero  i.e.(3-1=2)

It means the number of dividends digits is 2 more than the number of zero.

So we can put point(.) sign by leaving 2 digits from the right side of the dividend.

Therefore final answer =   26.6

Example 2) 266 / 100

Here you can see that in the dividend section there are 3 digits and in the divisor section there are 2 zero.

Example 4) 123/ 1000

Here you can see that in the dividend section there are 3 digits and in the divisor section there are 3 zero.

Now subtract dividend digits number and number of zero  i.e.(3-3=0)

It means the number of dividends digits is equal to the number of zero.

In this type of case, first of all, we should write the above numbers same too same and should put point(.) sign and zero ahead of this number.

Therefore final answer =   0.123

Example 5) 123/ 10000

Here you can see that in the dividend section there are 3 digits and in the divisor section there are 4 zero.

Now subtract dividend digits number and number of zero  i.e.(3-4=-1)

It means the number of dividends digits is less than the number of zero by 1.

In this type of case, first of all, we should write the above numbers same too same and should put zero ahead of that number and should put point(.) sign and zero ahead of that final number.

Therefore final answer =   0.0123
